I am the president of my casino's toke committee. We have hit a bump in the road (as we've only had table games in my casino for 10 months!!).
Our casino does a daily toke rate.
We voted to receive toke rate for PTO.
A gentleman recently left our casino for a new job. He put in his 2 weeks notice. The casino paid him his base rate for the 96 hours of PTO that he accrued. HOWEVER, he did not receive a toke rate for that time, as he was no longer an employee and didn't earn tokes AFTER his termination date. He asked why couldn't the casino just put him on the schedule for PTO and use it up. There was a list a mile long with dealers waiting for that time off. Because he was leaving, didn't mean he could supercede the people who have been waiting to use their PTO. Does that make sense?
HOW do you other casinos, who do a daily toke rate, deal with a team member who puts in their 2 weeks notice with PTO remaining? Talking with experienced dealers who have come from casinos with daily toke rates, they all said the same thing. You know you're leaving, use up your time as you won't get paid for it.
