Can anybody explain to me the correct method for pitching cards when dealing Poker? I deal Poker for a casino in South Africa. Texas Holdem in casinos is still fairly new here and teaching dealers to pitch correctly is the last thing on my casino's agenda. They just want you to get the cards out there anyway you can. Sad, but true!
Here is what I understand about pitching cards: If you hold the deck in your left hand, you push the top card out with your thumb and grab the top right corner between your thumb and index finger of your right hand, then push the card forward with your middle finger against the side of the card. The less wrist action you use, the better. Is this method correct?
Also, if you deal on a 10 seater table, is it okay to turn your body to deal to seat one, two, nine and ten? The seats next to you as a dealer?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
