Member Posts: 396 Jul 28 10 7:27 PM	My cosmopolitan audition (well actually not sure why they call it that because it is just a panel interview) is on Friday and I have a few questions. First, has anyone done theirs yet? Second, if you have, What can I expect, is it something like the crap they put you through at Harrahs, or is it a real interview? Thanks for any info.

Member Posts: 396 Jul 30 10 6:43 PM	Ok since no one wanted to come forward, or did not get an audition, I will tell what happened today. First off it was not an audition like it said it was, it was a panel interview. Second, it was a smaller group of people than I thought it was going to be, only 6 applicants and two HR. Third, it was like a get to know you session, talk about why you want to work at Cosmopolitan. Last there was a short 5 to 6 question customer service quiz.

No, no, it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm currently unemployed, or that I expect to make more money here, it's just, well, gee, I think this place is going to be the tops for customer service, and, well, gosh, I just don't want to miss out on being a part of that. It really is a bunch of nonsense. A test to see who can LIE the most convincingly. Really, if someone from HR ever went into a dealer's break room dressed as a dealer, they'd not be able to sit in on one of those interviews ever again.

Member Posts: 3686 Jul 30 10 6:57 PM Dealer/TGS	Last there was a short 5 to 6 question customer service quiz. I love how they like to keep it real. One of the questions is always... "If one of a bunch of drunk and obnoxious players at your table decides to throw a chip at your head, would you dodge to the right or the left." In case you're interested, the correct answer is... "I would dodge to the side that best allowed my warm, welcoming personality to continue to shine happy rays of sunshine on the good folks who have decided to honor me with their custom."

As soon as you get the job and get on the floor, you're going to turn into an internal tourette's, muttering under your breath, boob-staring, boob-commenting, football score asking, yawn-stifling, breaker-scanning, chip-tossing, casino-gazing, cynical cross-firing windtalker. Those interviewers end up with as much truthful information from you as your mom did when you were 14 and she asked what was taking you so long in the bathroom. In fact, the interviews should take place through a bathroom door. An interviewee shouldn't be doing that right in front of the nice HR ladies with the pearl necklaces.

Member Posts: 396 Aug 11 10 2:26 PM	I guess I have played their game well enough so far because a few days back I received an email letting me know they want me to come in for an audition (not a crazy HR panel interview like the first "audition"). Anyone on here other than myself get the same type of email?

You might not make the cut with that kind of thinking. Now would be a good time to adopt the "personality" of that HR-approved glee clubber I referred to in a previous thread. Swap your brain for a smile. Forget "dealing well" and think "joyful service". Think like "he" would think. Do as "he" would do. Utter the crap "he" would utter. Let your watchword be Glee! Glee! Glee! If want that job you do, dispense with reason and logic you must. Surrender to the farce.

No, a few days after my panel interview I received an email inviting me to pick a day and time for a table games audition, so I have no idea about the extra step you are being asked to do. As for the audition, I was told we will be auditioning for table games management on all games we say we know. Edited 1 time by horn hi Aug 12 10 9:58 PM.

Member Posts: 41 Aug 13 10 11:07 AM	one day after i completed the online application.i recieved a request to complete an online questionare (they say there is no right nor wrong answers). it's in 3 parts most of it has to with your moral charecter with some number spotting thing that you are timed at. i have an "audition"/" meet and greet" next week. who knows? i'm the most unlucky at these big opening things (15 yeatrs dealing). no juice , no double DD's ,no luck. maybe this time i'll finally get lucky. hope hope. good luck to y'all also. i'm still a little shaky whether this is going to be good job or not? it's got to be better than the 80-120 $ avg i've been doing.

The audition turned out to be a panel interview with 5 other applicants and 2 HR people. A few days (maybe 4 or 5) after my HR panel interview, I received an e-mail to pick a day and time for my table games audition. I am waiting on my day to get here for my audition, they don't start the auditions until August 23.
