I attended my first gaming summit here in Biloxi, Ms.
I was amazed and disheartened at the "no dealer" table games displayed. I was mortified at the many
"jackpot" table games. OMG! The "no dealer" roulette, black
jack and poker games are scary.
The future is one huge video gaming arcade. Then I
realized the last two generations grew up playing video games. (a very big sigh……..)
I sat at a "display" table game. The
vendor explained to me about the "bill validate". A player hands bills, the dealer counts the bills and give
the appropriate checks. The dealer then feeds the bills to the validate. The
validate keeps tracks of the denominations, and confirms the validity of the currency. Reports can be generated on the
drop and loss of each table using this machine.
This is what kills me: each dealer will have a
ticket (just like the ticket when you cash out at a slot machine). The dealer will insert their ticket in the machine
every time they go to a table. The "company" can keep track of the dealer's drop and loss and hands………….
I asked the rep, with all the equipment at the table, is there room for a dealer? I also asked, with all the time
consuming task of pushing buttons, etc., how many hands per hour can a dealer deliver? But then again, who cares?
I know that "no dealer" games have been implemented at many casinos
throughout. Players do love the live interaction, but these "video table games" games are
"IN"………..scary………it's just a matter of time.
Think about it,,,,,,,,,,,no payroll costs…no health insurance, no vacations, no holiday
pay, no call ins, no raise increases, no gossip, no grievances and no unions…………….
Please before you union die hards start attacking me, I am not pro or anti union. I just want you to pay attention. This is the future. The vendors out
there are just like all corporate america,,,,,,,the bottom line. These vendors do not care about us dealers. Pay attention and be prepared. We are in the
digital, video and robotic generation............
