I could'nt help blurting out "you're supposed to say thank you when you get a tip".
I'm continually grateful of every dollar I make.

I had a situation like that today, where I watched a newer cocktail server, expressionless, and her lips never moved., while she served about half the table.

Yeah, I totally agree... if you don't have any personality... why even get into the BIZ? |

Its people like that, that make the house think that they can control our tips. In their minds(the house), they feel people tip regardless of service. They
think people are just conditioned to tip. They could put a robot out there to do the job and it would still get tipped. Thats why they think the money is
theirs to do with it what they want.

The person never mentioned about the quality of the service, only that the server did not say 'thank you'. I think a lot of people are conditioned to tip. They can be trained. If you had to make a choice between a server who is very attentive and doesn't say 'thank you' or a server that says 'thank you' but takes an hour to get you a drink which one would you prefer??? |

I'd rather have a total witch who got me my drinks quickly than a happy, appreciative cute server who took too long with the service.

I think it is disgusting when someone doesn't say thank you for a tip. I am a suit that is relatively new in town and it never ceases to amaze me how many
dealers do NOT say thank you for a tip. As a player, if the dealer doesn't say thank you, I won't tip again because it obviously is not appreciated.
Prior to moving here, we were here on vacation and we were playing at Harrah's. I was playing with an older Asian female dealer and there were several of
us tipping decently. This woman never smiled, never said thank you - NOTHING. She just dropped her tips with a sour face and never said or acted nice. I was
completely disgusted and left her table to move to a more friendly, appreciative dealer.

It doesn't seem to matter. I hear players complain that the cocktail waitress never comes around, or takes too long to bring back an ordered drink. But,
when the waitress does come around, she always gets a tip. Yet, they rarely tip the dealer that is right there giving prompt courteous service and even gives
them the change to tip the waitress. It must be nice to have a job where customer service skills are not needed in order to get a tip.

It amazes me how many toke sponges I call them who rarely smile and say thanks. I work with too many of them!. Every joint I worked at has them. We work in the
service industry. Sincere or an act, we all should thank anyone who tips us. 25% of the dealers EARNING 75% of the tokes is insane! How god damn hard is it to
fake a smile and say thanks?

jonesincognito wrote: and your meaning is????? If you mean that she is still getting a portion of the tips that I gave because it is a tip pool - oh well - I am still going to
tip the nice dealer regardless of the fact that there are some idiots who can't muster a smile or a thank you. If you meant something else, maybe you care
to explain?
