This is the most hyped primary of our lifetime and yet NO ONE here has an opinion. Tisk, tisk, tisk.
My Gawd! Do I miss "hopfrogat" and "N.S.B's" & the cast of thousands that had opinions on the American political process the last
time around.
I remember saying that the 2 party system was defunct... I can't believe how spot on I was! (I'll try not to pull a muscle while I pat myself on the
back.) Could that be a reason for the apparent apathy on this hot topic subject that has our country talking... but not on this forum?
I was waiting for some Jeremiah Wright fallout and conversation here, but alas... none to be had.
I find the silence, interesting.
So F*** you guys! Here's what I got! (I'll get started without you's guy's!)
There's a reason that the right wing talk show host hated McCain while the republican primary was still in question. It's because he is NOT
conservative. For that matter, George W. isn't conservative either. How could someone under the conservative banner get us into debt the way he has? One
can't, that's how. We would be in the SAME exact situation we're currently in if Kerry were elected last time. No difference.
I'm not saying that we take these politicians on their word... I'm saying that we take them on for what they do. Sure, they talk like they're
polar opposites, but their actions are anything but.
So all 3 candidates will take us down the same road. What's a red-blooded American to do in the polling booth? There's little to no difference
between the professional, life-long, calculating politicians.
If any of you think that by electing any of these cats will in essance, "Bring The Boys Home" from war... you are sadly mistaken. I don't care
WHO gets in this election... our troops aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I don't care if it's Obama, Jimmy Carter, or Abby Hoffman! No one is
going to pull out troops anytime soon.
So again, what's a voter to do? I feel obligated to vote (even though I don't "believe" in any of these candidates). I didn't vote
during the Clinton-Dole election and I feel bad for not doing it. It's the only time that I haven't voted. So I'm voting this time around.
Here's my logic going in: Since none of these folks have any new, bright, innovative, imaginative, ideals... who would have the most positive impact on
our society at large?
John McCain - Besides how I come across here, I'm not an angry, old white guy! (Really, I'm not!) That... and Dammit! He's too F'n old!
I'm going to envoke the "Bob Dole" rule here, he's not getting my vote. He doesn't capture my imagination. He doesn't inspire
anyone to do anything, other than to watch some reruns of "Murder She Wrote."
Hilary Clinton - She actually would be tougher on terrorism than any of the 3. She would do just like Bill Clinton did... drop some bombs on some folks
whenever he got caught in a scandal as to avoid any more negative press coverage. "What? A Blue Dress with my JIZM on it?" Take that
Slobodon!!!"
She's too manical, too cold blooded, too jaded, too butch to get my vote. That, and there's just something about the Clintons. It's like
they're 1 step ahead of the law. They seem to be continually dodging and evading legal scandals at every turn. I have ZERO trust in them! They've
lost ALL credibility with me years ago!
Obama - He is anything but a "messiah" from politics as usual. "Change?" Change from what? Flawed policies? What's he got to offer
philosophically? What's his big plans? I need a little more than a tired, "change for change sake's" ad slogan. He's a flawed,
pandering politician just like the rest of them.
He's a calculating politician that will pander to anyone, at anytime just like any other fake politician that is in the system for his/her own personal
gain. He's going to raise my taxes. He has the support of left wing, nutjobs. He's the closest thing to a socialist that has ever garnered public
support in this country. As Archie Bunker would say it, "He's a Pinko-Commie!"
... I'll be Damned... But he's got my vote.
Here's why: Half of this country does not vote and yet, they are vital to our country. Obama's positive effect on them will be far more than that of
anyone else. The message sent by an Obama presidency is that truly, America is the land of opportunity. Anyone can succeed if they put their mind to it. It
also "rights" a lot of "wrongs" in our societies past. It blatantly sends the message that the narrow minded, race-based judgements of the
past were dead wrong. It says that we as a nation have finally healed that deep wound.
Ronald Reagan motivated people by his speeches. He was known as the "Great Communicator". He directly connected with the audience. I see a lot of
the same characteristics in Obama. He motivates the vast "silent majority" to move ever so slowly towards progress.
So Obama is going to get my vote. If he'll be half the president that Reagan was... I'll be happy with that.
PS
All of this could change based on who the winners choose as their respective V.P.'s. If Obama selects Hilary... it's a "No Go!" on my part.
What the Hell happened to Rudy!?! Fell off the earth.
If a man can adapt and learn to shave off his comb-over hair style... he can accomplish anything! That was "My Guy!" Socially liberal, economically
conservative, and experienced. (But not too bright when it came to winning in Iowa and New Hampshire! Do'h!)
