Ive been lucky enough to have been in this business for close to 20 years, in that time I have seen some funny, sad and down right strange stuff.

I may have already posted this story so if I have please forgive my repost.

Anyway approx 10/15 years ago I was working on a cruise ship that sailed from Ft Lauderdale Florida, on this particular trip I was working the pit nicknamed LBT, Land of Broken Toys, it was a carnie pit with a couple of BJs. Any way I was dealing CSP to 2 maybe 3 players as the players started to drop off the 1 remaining player started looking around over his shoulder ( just a little shady) . When I had delt the initial round of cards I was waiting for him to back up his $10 ante with the min/max $20, to my surprise he took a quarter and slipped it into his ante creating a $30 ante and a $5 toke, then he preceded to back up with $60 (of course nothing for the dealer), I mentioned that he wasnt allowed to do that and made change with the $25 chip and made the bets $10 & $20. He said to me discreetly, Its ok I know the boss and pulls the same maneuver. I correct the bets and say Im very sorry sir you cant do that. For the third time he moves the checks and he says, no really Im good friends with the owner he wont mind, at this point Id had enough, I said in return I dont care if your are getting on your knees for him later you aint pull in that sh*t on my table, FLOOR! As the suit wanders over the guy says theres no need for this, when the suit gets there I ask any new procedures letting any players to increase there bets AFTER seeing there cards, the suit looks at me like Im on something, then looks at the guy and sees what is going on. The suit says no we dont let that happen but there are always exceptions to every rule, I said, WHAT. The suit ran off real quick and was talking to the Shift Manager, there both looking at me, Im starting to sweat. The shift comes over and apologizes to the guy for any inconvenience, Im gob smacked, and I couldnt believe what I was hearing. The shift looks at me as he is getting all over my sh*t and very discreetly winks. I did a double take, I was obviously confused, and when I look around for help I see 4 big security guys moving up quietly. In moments the guy was rolled on the ground, he was hog tied with duct tape, I realized they wanted him for other issues but didnt understand why the team didnt have cuffs or bag ties or something to restrain him. The Manager explained to me, this guy had been on a bunch of other boats in Florida and pulling shots like this but for minimum bets at first then as soon as he felt safe he would max out the bets. I asked what about the tape? He said well the guy is kinda hairy around the arms, its gonna be a bugger to get it off..
