I have just a few days before I enroll in school and the school will cost 1700.00 for craps, blackjack and baccarat. I get the idea that dealers only make maybe 5.00 hr so they are DEPENDING on their tips. So I am wondering how much do they really make and if they have any break in houses in Biloxi like they do Las Vegas. Now if the wage and tips are about 35-40k then it will be worth pursuing if they only make 18-20k then not. So any help would be appreciated.

1700.00 for craps, blackjack and baccarat.OMG! Community College of Southern Nevada charges $195 per game and those classes can be used as credit towards an associates degree. You're getting ripped off! If your class included Pai Gow Tiles I might accept that price, but the class better make a damn good dealer out of you. Learning to deal is less than 1% class room education and more than 99% on the job experience.

I'm so glad that I got on the job training. All I knew when I first got hired was blackjack and now I'm dealing dice.

I work in Biloxi and I'm gonna make about 60K this year. The first job I had was Treasure Bay ... when it was still a boat. That crappy job got me about
20K, but you CANNOT get to the 60K jobs without going through the 20K jobs. I would suggest learning BJ, Craps and roulette; to hell with Bac. If I have my
way I'll never learn that game. Check out the courses at GCCC or JD before you chunk your money at a "dealer school"
After you get out of school; you're not a good dealer. Not by a long shot. You take 6 months to a year getting good at your game and talking while dealing AND learning the carnival poker games. After you get some time under your belt put in apps to get a better gig. Bottom line, you're not gonna make very good money your first year. After that, it's up to how good you got you game PEACE D

Geffen is right. I have paid $700 for BJ, craps and roulette together at a renowned dealer school in Vegas. After I got my first dealing job, they teached me
the carnival games and I recently passed my audition for baccarat.

shoot, if i didn't early out, i would be making more than $30,000 in vicksburg, mississippi, but i am old and get tired!!! dealing is a very difficult job,
mainly because it entails dealing with the public, and pleasing the public is the toughest job that you will ever have!! you must be a people person or you
won't last long, plus you must be very flexible not just with your hands and mind, but with your emotions also!! break in joints are really tough on a
dealer, because the floors are always expecting mistakes and seldom do the dealers let them down!! but if you can make it 5 years, you can work anywhere. ed

Well with all the advice I got I decided to call the school and tell them I wasn't going to attend. I did find another school that teaches blackjack and
mini baccarat for 600.00. I did deal craps at a place that was hired out for casino nights when I was in Texas for 4 years but that was two years ago I am not
sure if that can get me a job or not, in fact I am not sure if anyone is hiring or not they all seem to be accepting applications which to me don't mean
much. I still have a little over a week before I have to make a decision which is good because if I spend this money and can't get a job my wife will kill
me.
