Just wanted to get a thread going about the dining rooms where you work. Lately it seems, because of the recession or
"economic slowdown" ( for those who are in denial) the quality of food had gone from bad to worse.
I've heard various accounts of in some houses, the employees are eating cold sandwiches. I know of some people who eat all day long during work (which
would make me hurl at the thought of constantly eating on breaks) and then there are dealers who bring food from home and do a pot luck with others and share
what they brought.
It's a hit and miss for me. If I eat a solid breakfast at home, then I'm okay until the middle of the afternoon when my stomach growls. I don't
like the idea of having to brown bag it, especially when the corporation I work for claims to really take care of their employees. So I wind up eating rice (
which is always in a rice cooker) and some veggies. It appears that the bean counters are telling the big brass "save money, cut down on your food costs
and feed them whatever...they'll eat it". To my management's credit, they do eat the same stuff that we do, but I know they're thinking the
same thing...."I'm hungry, might as well eat something, hopefully it won't talk back tome later in the day"
So..........what's it like where you're at??? Good, Bad, Medicore?
