The other night while I was on the whip I see one of our dice dealers on the base take a bet from a player consistently betting $32/$34 inside. Each time this
player would hand in $35 in red, this dealer would hand it off to the box (Imaginary box in our joint) then set the bet up out of his working stacks. After
watching this go down about 10 times I finaly said "Dude! just use what he gave you." Deer in the headlights, he then says "I cant do that,
are you crazy?" Then goes on to say "How do I prove he gave me the correct amount?" I told him to send the last nickel to the box while you
announce "$32/$34 inside" and make the change.
Later I asked one of the more dice savvy floor men just WTF why these guys don't use what the player gives them. He says because they where taught to use all of it or none of it. That is to say that unless the player gives you exactly the correct chips to setup the bet you have to prove every chip to the box, send the change out, then set up the bet.
Forgive me again, but does this sound retarded to anyone else here?
