I got a job at another casino in town as a Casino Host. I'll miss dealing a little bit, but I'm excited to be a host. Any tips, thoughts, comments?

Good luck with your new job. I was thinking about leaving the biz myself. I've met a lot wonderful people and made some really good friends in the casino biz. I am still young and haven't invest that much time in this biz to say that I am burned out from dealing. My parents keep nagging me about going back to college and I think that's exactly what I am gonna do. I am tired of working for these greedy ENGINES OR INDIANS, who don't give a shi-t about other people but themselves. I don't know what my ancestors did to them; but I know this much, I've paid them back more then enough. It hurts me so bad when I have to watch some of my very good friends got screw over by these so called tribal casinos and couldn't do anything to help them. What is going on in DC? These lawmakers basically give the Engines the green light to abuse and rob the American workers. It's so %$!%%*% ridiculous that the American workers have to rely on the Union to protect them from greedy/corrupted employers. |

You understand they had true freedom before your so called ancestors came over and decided they could make things better. Pushing their religion and ways of life onto them. I don't think a little money and very little land is true repayment, but it is better than nothing. Let me guess you think blacks should shut the hell up, and thank the lord above that they have it better than their ancestors? On a happier note, Good luck frank1004. |

Ever heard of Discrimination horn hi? | #3 | ||

In case you were unaware, these native joints practice discrimination to its fullest. Just pretend that Burger King or some other major franchise told you that they will promote someone else of a particular race that is equally qualified for the position before they promote you, merely due to their race. That sounds like a multi million dollar class action suite to me. Its pretty sad but they are very blunt and open about such matters, when hiring in. We all know that their ancestors caught the raw end of the deal, with the trail of tears etc.. But that was then and this is now. Does that mean that two hundred years later, people of their race (that didn't actually suffer) should be entitled to a sovereign nation within the U.S., that obides by a their own laws within their own jurisdiction? When I worked at a native joint, I too witnessed many none tribal employees get fired for ubsurd reasons i.e. (having a petty misdemeanor on their record from years prior to their employment at the casino). And at the same time, there were indians working there with serious felonies i.e. (armed robbery one year prior) on their record. But it was totally fine because if you were a tribal member, or hell even just native american in general; they would tell us that "such crimes could be overlooked if you were one of them". Does that sound like a very fare way of business? Its truly unfortunate for us non native individuals, but the laws back the indians up with their harsh discriminatory ways. |

I realize that there are good and bad Tribal members and I apologize for coming across as a racist. My family have established our roots in the U.S.A for the
last 60 years and I can assure some of you that none of my ancestors have caused the Tribal people any pain or sufferings. However, I am entitled to my own
opinions and I am entitled to the right to make my opinions that based on the experiences I've gained during the past 6 years that I've worked for
Tribal's casinos. I am working for a casino in Tunica now and I can tell you this much, it's a very pleasant place to work.

These are your own words, not mine. Vegas Born wrote: "You might think its unfair that they treat you with bias in their casino, but the world for the most part still treats them that way everywhere else. Atleast someone is looking out for them." Which other the parts of the world that treat them unfairly? Asia? Africa? Perhaps, these other parts of the world should give them the privilege to be the only people that can own/run land-based casinos without paying income taxes. |

Damn, thanks for hijacking my thread and turning it into this nonsense about Native Americans.
Chinese though, maybe I'll work on that. Thanks for the tip. |
