Roulette on the other hand. Lets just say that trying to spin the ball for the first time since 2001 in a very humid climate didn't go quite as planned. I wonder if they ever found that little ball.
One thing I have a tough time getting used to. This casino has been limited by gaming to not accept any bets that are not actually set up before the dice land. So here I am on the stick, making no big deal about the occasional late horn or hard way bet tossed in while the dice are out, and the base absolutely panicking that I accepted these bets. I mean I understand when the dice are in the air and 6 bets come in, I got that, but one late horn hi yo and the guy is about to have a stroke. So when things calmed down I asked him what the big deal was and he says "Tell em to bet while the dice are in the middle!" I guess growing up at the Barbary Coast made me immune to this rather minor annoyance that some of these guys never learned how to deal with. Just out of habit, If I know how much the bet is and what it' being bet on, it's a bet, I'll let the money roll wherever and get it later, but this is unacceptable in Iowa apparently. In Iowa, Money does not play, call bets are not allowed and you are definitely not getting a free drink! It's got to be hard to run a casino under these conditions. But hey on July first, the casino will be the only place you can smoke inside besides your own home in Iowa.
