From my experience, stick calls are pretty much the same no matter where you go. As long as you let the players know what is going on in the hand, you should
be good.
Player shows.... Bank has... Players up to/down to... Player/Bank wins.... over..... Sample hands: Player shows 3 Bank has 4 Card for the player. (2 comes out) Players up to 5. Card for the bank. (4 comes out) Bank wins 8 over 5. Player shows nothing. Bank has 1. Card for each. (7 comes out) Players up to 7. Card for the bank. (3 comes out) Players win 7 over 4. Player shows a natural 9. There will be no draw. (Bank cards equal 4) Players win natural 9 over 4 Players show a natural 8. There will be no draw. (Bank cards equal 9) However the bank wins with a natural 9. Don't waste time telling the players what the totals are before you say who wins the hand after you already know. Just tell them who wins and what the totals are. Some players keep track of the scores of the hands and want to know both totals. If you have any more questions just ask. |

At my casino we MUST use the words "improves to" or "reduces to" or "is reduced to nothing" instead of up to and down to.
All the same in my opinion though. |

Funny, my joint uses Increases and Decreases to also we must call out what spot is facing with banl and player cards. Also on hands of 0, 1, or 2 for both we
see there will be a 2 card draw. I find it amusing that players will look for weaker dealers or indifferent ones on non touch games like mini-bacc to try to
entice them to draw on stop cards 3-8 for example or a 6-6-7 rule yet they will show respect for a dealer in our higher limit section, also bacc is great when
you have a good group of 3 and a full table.

Where i deal, most of the bac dealers dont say much of anything.
Because we are the only people at the table speaking english! just my thoughts. sockman522 |

At my casino we are supposed to recite verbatum, "Press, change, rearrange, ties often repeat...paying 8 to 1.", after every tie hand that occurrs.
I was wondering if this is a standard stick call at other casinos or just a stupid sell for tie bets that our fruity baccarat trainer made up? Please share
if you have strange stick calls at your casino....

When I learned bacc I learned this call too. Calling your game was an important part. Unfortunately, where I work now there are many dealers who say
absolutely nothing.

Amnesia21 wrote:When I first read sockman522's quote I found he funny side, but I do agree with Amnesia21, although some calls may sound cheesy or even pointless as dealers we are trying to make a living through tips if we don't at least try to sell ourselves we won't make Jack. Depending on the house, I would stay with basic calls, if the tempo or the feel of the table is picking up you should be getting a little more into the game also. All players can feed off the dealers manner, dealers can create players and azzholes. We can all make money and have our players want you on there game not because they win but you get them involved in the game, your chances of getting a tip increase if you call the game. |

To add to aZero's comments,
Stick calls also let the floor supervisors behind you know what's going on without having to look up when they're scribbling out rating cards, comps, fills, etc. If they hear your stick call saying player wins 9 over nothing...they now know that they need to come over and approve a few payouts and this speeds up the # of hands and such. This also excites the players nearby and provides entertainment...which is one big reason why the players are there in the first place. |

Thank you Stoy' its true Bacc' has is own issues not calling the game only adds to them. Calling a game can do a multitude of things for the dealer,
1 the time flys by. 2 you will make more money. 3 over time you find some players will enjoy that YOU are there and tip better. 4 keeps suit informed , keeps them off your back. We could go on with a list as boreing a s a full sized table with only 1 player, lol. But the point is you should always call your game. |
