The KEY to making good tips is of course, Customer Service. Would you tip someone who did not service you well? Of course not. You would not tip a waiter if he was rude. You would not tip a waiter if he didn't service you properly. And obviously you would not tip a dealer who was nasty, rude and not professional in his demeanor.

Tips to be good at Customer Service:

· Be Friendly. Smile, no matter what kind of day you had or are having.
Greet every player to your game with a smile. Welcome EVERY player with something like this "Hello Sir/Madam, welcome to Lucky Dog Casino"

· Make EYE CONTACT. Especially when making change. Look the person square in the eye, saying "One Hundred, good luck sir".

· Act like you want the players to WIN. Even if they are not betting for you or tipping you. Always root for the players, "Come on now.. BREAK... BREAK, GO OVER". Players become enthused to see that the dealer WANTS the players to win. They have a better time on the game and become more comfortable with their dealer.

Professionalism

· Come to work ready to make money. Guests are put off by sloppy grooming, poor posture, and a hang dog attitude.

· Knowledge of game.
Make sure you KNOW, really KNOW the game you are dealing. If you are a break in, talk to other dealers about the game. Practice the game at home or with other dealers who are learning. Bone up. Players like a dealer who KNOWS the game.

· Courtesy with conversions.
Talk out what you are doing if you are converting someone to larger checks. I.E. a $15 bet paid with a $25 cheque, taking $10. "You win $15.. 25 for 10 sir".. (looking at the player while you are making the payoff).

· Throughout the casino. Get to know as much of our operation as you can so that you can answer guests' questions. If you don't know the answer, offer to find out. Take the time to locate a slot tech, security, or waitress when needed.

Gratitude

· For their play.
Thank EVERY player for playing at your table when they are ready to leave. No matter if they tipped you or not. They could have lost a lot prior to playing at your table, or could have tipped someone a lot earlier.

· For tipping you.
It is a MUST that you thank the player for tipping you, failure to do so is a BIP.. And BE FRANK about it. "Thank you for tipping me", "Thank you for tipping us". Tap the tip on the top of the toke box twice (but only twice) as a gesture that thanks the player and lets everyone know you were tipped. Showing gratitude is a big way to show other players that you can be tipped and like to be tipped.

· When leaving a game
Thank all of your players as you leave - even if you are relieved unexpectedly. Look them in the eye, smile, thank them, and wish them luck.

More ways to say thank you:

· When you get a tip, "Thank you for tipping us, the dealers are working hard for you today/tonight".

· We certainly appreciate this tip!

· Much obliged, sir for the try, maybe we'll be luckier next time.

· "Dealers thank you sir, one more for the good guys."

· "Hey, the dealers are now on the hard eight, bet heavy on it folks, you know I want to call it! Who else wants to join the dealers on the hard eight? You know it's coming right up!" (This gives the company a "hustle" also which encourages people to bet)

· "The dealer is in the game, bet heavy!! Dealer breaks"

· "Dealer is on 17 courtesy of this gentleman here folks"...

· ANNOUNCE to EVERYONE that someone has put you in the game. Some people do not even know that they are allowed to tip.

· "Sir, on behalf of all the dealers here, thank you for tipping us", "Dealers thank you for the try, better stickman would have called it, maybe we'll do better next time!"
