Why is the scheduler, in my fictitious scenario, not held accountable for scheduling an inexperienced and error prone dealer on a "Private Game"?

"The stick dealer should have stopped the dealer that did it right away and the dealer on the dead base also should have said something. 1 player to watch and 3 dealers + 2 floor can't handle it?..........Those dealers endangered their own jobs by not speaking up."

However, I failed to mention in my fictitious scenario, that my published policies for Bac are not followed in "Private Games". In these games I allow the player to basically set the rules and expect that all dealers know the player and his preferences.

In addition, the player has played in my fictitious casino before and is known to be very demanding and moody. Thus, the "stick dealer" (a highly qualified and competent dealer) should have known what his reaction would be if he was made aware of the mistake. It was that dealer's "hinting" that made the mistake apparent to the player and caused his outbursts against the TL's, who were not supervising, thus not able to catch the mistake.

Basically, in the fictitious scenario I presented, everyone is to blame from the Casino Manager on down. This is a classic example of a comedy of errors:

1. The Casino Manager allows private game players to set their own rules and expects every dealer to know and abide by those rules. He displays his outstanding managerial skills by firing/penalizing those who make undefined errors.

2. The Scheduler schedules in accordance with personal preference not based on qualifications.

3. The TL's are not supervising.

4. An experienced dealer makes a conscious decision to cause a predictable conflict.

5. An error prone dealer makes another mistake.

While all of these errors need to be fixed before the inevitable repeat performance, this fiasco could have been avoided, as follows:

The stick dealer could have made a mental note of the error, waited until their break, notified one of the leads and had them refund the erroneous commission to the player's account without his knowledge.

In a true "Team" environment, my suggestion would work.

However, in my fictitious casino, the "Team" concept is nothing more than a nice sounding phrase. In my casino, the dealers think that the leads are stealing their tips, the Dual Raters are viewed as traitors and the TL's delight in writing up dealers.

Consequently, the "stick" dealer (Dual Rate) wants to protect himself/herself with the "hinting" hoping that it is picked up on the tape and be a team player and not report the mistake to a TL who would surely delight in getting the monkey off his back (his failure to supervise) by placing all the blame on the dealer who made the error.

As I said, a "Team" concept in name only and a comedy of errors.
