bresner wrote: You believe that the owners and managers of the Wynn have a right to decide on policies concerning compensation? Sure, so do I. Compensation in relation to
"wages and salary" ONLY. Tell me something, if you are in a tavern do you tip the "owner" of the bar? Do you tip any of the
"workers"? Do you think it "right" for the owner to determine which worker receives the tip you bestowed upon the workers? If so, then you
must have answered "yes" to the first question and you tip the "owner". Personally, I pay the "owner" of the tavern with every
purchase I make in their establishment, thus providing them with a "profit". I then may tip a "worker" to show my appreciation for their
work and service, thus allowing them to "profit" as well.

Honestly, I'd like to know what the salary would be if tips were not allowed. How much would Wynn have to pay to get good dealers in the place?? 50K 60K??
I doubt he wants to find out. |

"I doubt he wants to find out." I agree. If Mr. Wynn prohibited tipping at the Encore (he cannot do so at the Wynn so long as negotiations are going on) and paid a salary to dealers, it would be costly. Assuming 600 dealers and a $50,000 per year salary and NO salary changes for Team Leads who have a pre tip salary of $65,000, it would INCREASE annual payroll expense by $23,757,600. I don't believe that even Mr. Wynn is
that innovative. All figures rounded: 600 dealers at minimum wage + employer match
of SS and Med = $8,492,400 annually.
Even if he were to pay less than the $50,000 per year anything over the minimum wage now paid would be an INCREASE to his payroll expense. The question remains - what are dealers willing to accept as a salary without the possibility of tip income? |

Okay. I MAY consider a $300 per day wage with NO TIPS as a Dealer. Although it would be a reduction in what I already make, it would be a "stable"
income which bills and such can be planned around.
Oh, and I would have to have a legally binding contract as well. |

Wynn should be forced to put a tip-jar on every table with a sign stating "All tips will go to Steve Wynn. Your generosity is appreciated." Nevada
should make sure the customer knows exactly where their tip is going. Put it right in their faces. Does anyone think people will still tip? He's
benefiting directly or indirectly. HA!

Why would Wynn end tipping? | ||
|
It is the greatest scam ever devised. The customers (idiots) are falling all over themselves to give their money away for "free" drinks, crappy food
and "entertainment" while paying the salary of the employees in TIPS! It doesn't get any better than this. God forbid the customers ever wise
up and decide these billion dollar casinos should start actually paying their employees with casino profits and not "gifts" from the idiots.
