It is time to change professions if you possibly can. That would be a major greenlight for the casinos to do whatever they want to the dealers. You would be better off employed as a porter than a dealer if that were to occur. I am not just talking about Caesar's and Wynn, I am talking about every single dealer employed in this city. If you think you are powerless now, just imagine what would happen after the dealers who voted in the union were then to decide to bend to the will of management. This has nothing to do with being pro and anti-union. If you don't want to be union, and if your property may vote on one, do whatever you can to stop it. But do not encourage Wynn and Caesar's dealers to change directions now. Do you think Wynn will just forgive you and let bygones be bygones? Rhetorical question of course, but anyone encouraging this particular maneuver is either a management shill or one dumbass dealer. |

Brazen, you are soooooo right. Those who voted the Union in MUST follow through. If they do not, look for a new line of business, each and every dealer in this
country. It will be another MickieD's job.
I can tell you, the negotiations at Caesars Palace IS GOING GREAT. Yes, just 4 months after the Union has been voted in. Negotiations started in March and continue on. Two more dates have been set and three meetings have already occured. Follow the links above to follow the process. |

SINCE the Union has been voted in at Caesars Palace, management has changed the "point system" to where points drop off after ONE YEAR. At the date
of the election, it was SIX MONTHS. Guess what? Because the Dealers at Caesars Palace were protected by "status quo", they
STILL get to drop their points after 6 months. Union saved that for them. I also hear there has been some "vesting" changes in the 401(k) for the
worse. Well, again, because the Dealers are protected by "status quo" the changes did NOT affect them.

I think dealers at Mandalay Bay and Hilton may have a vote soon or may have already had one. I'm not sure. If you don't want a union then vote it down. But Wynn and Caesar's dealers HAVE to follow through. This is not just about them, but all of us. Another thing, you will NOT make 100k per year at Encore even if you do not split with management. Dealers will never again make what Wynn dealers made during the first year. There is too much saturation, too much HIGH-END saturation. Every casino that is being built or in the process of being built or may be built on the strip is going to be a luxury hotel. Sure, Bellagio may have been the most luxurious when it opened, but that is in the past. No hotel can make that claim now. The high-rollers will spread out. |
