A question for idealcrap711, when were the dealers told they were going to start in HollyWood? Our the dealers in Connecticut and Mississippi who got hired
being given an adequate amount of time? I live in Las Vegas, very interested in the Tampa location. Not really sure what to do, but would be willing to fly
cross country to get a job. If you hear anything about the Tampa location please post. Either way would like to get out to Florida inside of a year!
Thanks again I do look at your blog. |

As I'm sure you can imagine the starting date for Hollywood is subject to change without notice. Right now they are saying mid June. When I was down
there last week this looks like a very practical date. However, they are still fighting with the state. Anyone that has lived in a state that introduces
gaming knows how many hang ups are in this process.

Tampa | ||

When I interviewed last week the interviewer who seemed to know what is going on said the next casino to hire would be Hollywood. (not Hollywood Hard Rock but
the other casino just up the street) I was also told that they were hoping to have Tampa up and running for the Super Bowl. So the December story may be
accurate.

Update on Hollywood Hard Rock
|
I was able to interview two people that have been hired at the Hard Rock this afternoon. One of them was is going to be a Pit and the other is a full time
floor. I got a lot of information and you can read all about it at www.idealcrap.com.
I will keep all of the information that I learn posted on my blog and let people here know when that happens. Thanks for your time. Matt |

Came down for nothing | ||

I decided with 10 years experience in dealing and supervising Table Games I would just show up and hopefully get a interview. Hell I was wrong they
wouldn't even take another app because the one I did online had a address I had moved from so I don't know if I ever got a letter for a interview. Oh
well the weather is great here in Fort Lauderdale (ecspecially since I came from Canada) I have been talking to the locals and everyone agrees working at the
Hard Rck would be great but they reminded me that Florida is very seasonal. I think in summer it can be tough to make good tips. I will still try for the Tampa
location, since I love Florida (the last 7 years I was in California and its too busy and expensive)

Got offer a full time dealer/ dual rate at hardrock Hollywood
|
Matt, Thank you for all the informations. I just received an offer letter from Hardrock for dual rate and was told that when I floor, I will be paid $23.75 an hour and when I deal my base pay will be $6.00 an hour. I am kind of iffy right now since you mentioned that the high court could overruled it and shut tabl game down. I currently have a full time dual rate job at Foxwoods Resorts and Casino in Connecticut and don't want to take th risk if the high ruling can overruled the governor. Did you hear anything about the ruling? What do you think the toke will be there? By the way, my friend got a job offer letter as a part time dealer with a base pay of $5.25 an hour. Thanks in advance

About the law in Florida
|
Several people have asked about the court ruling regarding the Supreme Court ruling about Class III gaming here in Florida. I've just spent about 3 hours
putting together everything that I can find and you can read about at www.idealcrap.com. Let me know if anyone needs
any other info and I will do the best I can to find it.
Thanks. Matt |

Florida's Ruling | ||
|
Again, thanks alot Matt and everyone in this forum for the informations. I did check out your blog. I actually spent countless hours for the last couple of days trying to find out as much as I can about the decisions and what the impacts are. I am still very confused and lost at this time because I need to make a decision by May 8, 2008 on whether or not to accept the offer. I actually going to fly down there next week from New England to talk to human resource and get everything done for them. I know it might sound crazy, but I went as far as paying $50 for a half hour reading with a psychic to guide me in the right decision. She wants me to move down there and said that it will be a good change for me and that I will make more money. I don't know if I should follow her advice or not with this ruling still in question. I was just curious and I have never been read by tarot cards before. Crazy huh? Thanks everyone. |

My own opinion is the job in HollyWood will probably end up easily being the best of all the Hard Rocks down in Florida. I think the location and the fact
that it's the most developed of all of them makes it a sure thing.
I too have tried to read everything I can and sure hope all this works out in the end. I would hate to see this shut down. Either way when they start hiring for Tampa I'll be hoping on a plane. Good Luck to all. Keep us posted. |

The Hard Rock here in Hollywood looks very nice and the area is great. I have been down here the last week, and in that short time I am already noticing things
slowing down here. All the locals are telling me that from now to Nov. it is really slow! Wouldn't that make for bad tips and hours. Just a thought. I
think I will wait for the late fall to re apply after they weed out all the lumps. If the casino still has Table Games.
