She told me that "she would love to have me back" but... It seems that I have to start all over from the beginning. I've literally looked at every casino and there just are no dealing jobs anywhere. The thing thats bugging me is I know that people are getting dealing gigs, but I never even see them get posted on the employment websites. I'm almost ready to start sending out unsolicited resumes. Has anyone ever done this? and if so, does an unsolicited resume even get any attention in this business? Anyone have any advice? I will listen to anything anyone has to offer.

But if you choose to go back then you will have to start all over from the beginning. Thats unfortunate that you will have to start from scratch, but at the same time, if that opportunity is available to you I'm not quite sure why you don't jump on it? Seeing how that is the second best job in town. As far as other big joints not posting jobs, thats how they have operated 85% of the time. They very rarely post dealing spots at the big houses, especially in a somewhat time of recession. I'm rather surprised to be hearing these questions from you Geffen, you seem to be one of the true "Vets" to this page. I would assume that you would know the hiring process in this town, seeing how you were previously working at CP. Its all a matter of persistence, perseverance, and of course juice is a huge factor as well. As far as your question regarding the resumé goes the answer is to definitely get those out there, but in the hands of the right people, that is the key. Good luck.

I would have to wait for them to post a job online, apply and hope for the best. I have my cover letter and resume and I'm going to start a mail merge today and get them out to the right people.

There just isn't anything out there, unless you trip across something my accident. Try the Golden Nugget, they've been hiring lately, they're very short handed. They won't hire me because they are in the middle of their card drive for the U-train and I have a giant black W burned into my forehead, but you might have better luck.

Especially since you haven't dealt for a while. The money is probably not so good but you can sharpen up your skills. I also know people who have been sent to places like Caesar's and LV Hilton to work a tournament and they were hired. You probably won't get hired until summer is over. No one is hiring. The only advertisment I have seen is that the Tuscany was hiring but that is it.

I put together an excel spreadsheet with casinos and their addresses and mail merged cover letters and I'm getting ready to send out resumes. Damn the cost of resume' paper.

My feeling for this business had nothing to do with my reasons for enlisting in the army. Yes I wanted to give flight school a shot, but I was never called up to appear before the selection board. I do not hate this business. There are things about this business that I'm sure we all wish where different. Sometimes we all need to be reminded what it's like to really do hard work for a living. Seriously, the Army has been a very humbling experience for me, and I'm quite certain that I have grown to be a better person because of it. I think you will find that while I still have a sense of humor, my days of mindlessly ranting and raving are behind me.

I am "speculating" that they are releasing information as to my being an IHO there, but I have yet to be able to prove it. I am in the process of doing so though.
