Before a packed chamber of casino workers and anti-smoking advocates, City Council's nine members approved an ordinance that will clear the smoke from all city gaming floors by Oct. 15. My prediction is that business will slow, but eventually come back stronger than ever. People are not going to stop gaming...period!

I was reading that in the financials yesterday. I guess you can look forward to that. But hey your anti smoking advocates won't mind a 20% loss of pay to have a smoke free work place.

That means nothing. They stopped smoking in all restaurants and people did not stop eating. They stopped smoking in all decent poker rooms in Las Vegas and people are still playing poker. The vast majority of people do not smoke and many that do not smoke do not want to be around it. I wish they would ban it in all public places, inside and outside. Nothing worse than going outside a hospital and smelling all the foul smoke coming frm the very people who are taking care of others....stinky mfs. Some assholes even smoked when they taught craps classes.

Member Posts: 1747 (04/24/08 06:12) Mod Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	It's great that someone is taking into consideration the health effects of second hand smoke on employees, however considering that the casino floor has always been an unhealthy environment in that regard I don't think there is a single non smoking dealer who can honestly say that they didn't take the job knowing full well that the health hazard existed. It's not a matter of if smoking will eventually be banned in all casinos everywhere but a matter of when. It's cultural evolution.
