Can anyone confirm if the casinos are going to be tip pooled?I called all 6 human resources.Two said it was going to be tip pooled.Two said it was going to be
tft.Two said it had yet to be determined.I do not think They even know yet.If it is pooled and part-time only,It will be break-In and Senior Citizens only.

well i worked for the 2 guys that are in charge of getting the casinos up and running. they both worked with me in california. they had dealers going tft and then changed it for 9 months. there was such an uproar in the casino that they went back to tft. however they got rid of the a flight b flight and c flight dealers and put all dealers in the same group. then they opened a hi limit salon. then they lowered all the table limits outside the salon and put all the georges in the same general area. then they let the shift managers hand pick the dealers to work in the salon. so if your in the salon your living large. if not its hard. they also set a tax rate of about 27 bucks and hour. they didnt seperate it by shift or by salon or outside salon. so swing shift salon is paying the same tax rate as grave yard 5 dollar table dealers. all complaints fell on deaf ears. so who knows what they will conjure up in florida. |

I went to the Tunica job fair. This is the deal: They will hire you as a dealer only if you know all three games (pai gow, mini bacc, bj), they are hiring only
for the Miami area, pretty much all of the dealing positions are part time, it is a pooled toke job with a daily split and you are paid weekly. I was offered
dual-rate which I believe pays $195/day, I wasn't given a dollar amount on dual rate pay but someone I know was and that is what I was told. I also heard
heard full floor was $205/day and pit was $260/day. I'm not sure what dual pit pay is though.

Yes, I was told that you have to deal all three to be hired as a dealer. I don't deal pai gow so he offered me dual-rate floor and said I could learn pai
gow later. I'm not sure about Tampa, I told him Tampa was my preference as I have friends that live there and I don't know anyone in Miami. He said
they were only hiring for Miami at the time and that Tampa wasn't going to be open for cards until a few months, at the earliest, after Miami.

As some one has already said they are holding interviews this week. If you put your application in and they want to talk to you they will send you a letter.
They say that in order to get an interview you have to have a letter addressed to you.
They are hiring full time dealers but you have to have at least two games. They are hiring break-ins but you had to have been working at the casino in another capacity. I will be driving down there tomorrow to turn in my resume and application. I'm more interested in the casino in Tampa but I want to see what is going on. I will be updating all of the information on my blog at www.idealcrap.com. Just go to the casino rumors section. I live in Florida and work on the day cruises and this is how I try to keep all of my friends updated on what is going on here in Florida. 21guy, the day cruises haven't lost any dealers yet because they haven't opened yet but I know that all of the dealers are trying to get jobs at the
Hard Rock. Everyone knows that as soon as they open all of the day cruises will go under right away. Some are going back to the casino's that they left
to come here because they have family there but for the most part it's going to be cruise dealers. We are already joking that Hollywood is going to be
Cape Canaveral south. There is 250 dealers here and almost all of them have got letters from Hard Rock.

You can read about at idealcrap.com They told me that they are going to start sending out letters for the Tampa casino in about 2 weeks so I'll let everyone know if I get one and then post about my interview experience. Also, I didn't mention this is my blog but at the interviews they didn't mention anything about tiles. I would assume that with how rare tile dealers are, at least here in Florida, they would have made this a very specific question.
