Did they lay off floor people at the bellagio?

My understanding is that 440 mid mangers were laid off within the entire MGM company. There were over 100 laid off employees in Mississippi. That's 25
per cent.....and how many properties does MGM have? Beau Rivage consistantly shows profit every quarter.
"Rather than a layoff, he said, "We eliminated their positions," and they were terminated effective Tuesday. Employees can try to transfer to other positions within the two Mississippi casinos or to other MGM Mirage properties." If these employees can transfer, why were their positions eliminated? I don't get it, or do I???????? lol... Rumor has it that the floor supervisors who were terminated had negative performance. $75 million should cover the exec's bonuses.

These layoffs were not just table games.... | ||

but in the slot department, food and beverage perhaps even human resources. MGM also publically stated that it was not a response to the current economy but 'corporate belt-tightening.' I'm sure many of these people were not justifying their salaries with the value they were adding to the company. Lanni, Murren and all the other bigwigs are buying multi-million dollar condos in City Center and getting multi-million dollar bonuses while these people are getting no severance packages. In October, MGM stock was over $100 a share. Now it is trading for about $50. LANNI SHOULD BE FIRED!!! |

much by people who don't own that stock. Does anyone here currently own MGM stock that can report whether or not the stock has split?

Three Shift Managers of Table Games were fired on Tuesday 4/08/08 @ MGM Grand Detroit for no reason & the people there thought it was because of the new
president & coo Lorenzo Creighton but it was a
decision that was made from vegas. As far as severance packages, we heard they get one year of pay but don't quote me on that.

No split... | ||

All gaming companies are hurting. Sands was at $148 a share back in October and now it is like $67. Now is the time to buy the stock if you have any extra cash. |
