Interesting... I went today, and not many people passed the audition while I was there. I was one of the lucky few. Two of my friends missed it by a point or
two. Nerves got the best of them. The manager asked them to please come back next tuesday and re-audition. I really hope that they have not filled all the
spots.

HMMMMMMM...that IS interesting. What I heard Tuesday was that they hired all that they needed on that first day of auditions. ??? So now I dont know
what to believe. i DO know that I feel their auditioning process is flawed!! They auditioned for three game types: PLO, 7 stud 8 or better, and 2-7
Triple draw...........my audition consisted of ONE HAND per game type. I made a couple of MINOR mistakes and I didn't make it! I was shattered, because
i KNOW my skills are excellent, and i was turned down. My mistakes may not have even happened if I had not been forced to WAIT around the casino for 7 , yes
i said SEVEN hours until my number came up to audition. By the time I auditioned i was DOG TIRED!!!! any ways......I went to the Golden Nugget the next
day to audition for one of their temp dealing jobs for their Grand Poker Series starting June 6 going thru July 6 and I dealt ONE hand and was hired. So, if
anyone else feels they got shafted by WSOP, try the Nugget. :-)
Back to the WSOP auditions.......not only were a lot of the auditioners tired by the time they got their audition, but I would think the SUITS that were running them were tired too. As far as I could tell, they didn't get breaks during the day, other than the short potty break. Can you imagine being one of the last auditioners of the day, being evaluated by someone who hasn't had a break all day???? yikes Anyway, by the time I auditioned, I felt they were just going thru the motions to get the whole day over with. |

I was at the Rio today, to try and get processed (for the third time in three days and still no luck). There were a couple people in there that auditioned on
wednesday and were hired. Someone else was saying that the wsop website said all the jobs were filled. Then someone from HR mentioned more auditions next
week. So who knows what to believe. It is Harrahs, so expect the unexpected. LOL
My friends are planning on going back on tuesday to reaudition, like they were asked to. Congrats on the GN gig. |

Golden Nugget gig.....? | ||
|
Well, thanks, but the congrats may be a bit premature.......I am still trying to decide if I really want to accept the gig or not. Here's my
thoughts..........I actually live in northern nevada.....carson city area.....and would just be coming down to work the tourney series there at the GN. So I
have to factor in the cost of housing for about a 6-7 week period. I was told I'd have to complete a 2 week period which they call their
"bootcamp". (this is a period in which they run you through all the games types and teach their procedures and such) During this bootcamp, you make
min. wage ONLY, no tokes!
Now i have no idea if the money will be good enough to make this a profitable venture. Is there ANYONE out there that haas worked this "Grand Poker Series" at the GN before? and if so, can you give me ANY idea what the money is like during these events? it would really help me to decide if this is what i want to do, or not. ALSO, are there any LV residents that could rent me a room for a 6-7 week period for a reasonable rate? i am a married 52 year old male (wife wouldn't be coming with me, just mentioned the marriage so you wouldn't think I'd be having visitors), i dont smoke, drink, party or do any drugs. I would mostly be working and sleeping while i was down there. It would be nice to have my own bathroom, but not necessary. A place with it's own laundry facilities would be very nice. You'd hardly even know I was there!! REALLY. |
