Ok so I have been dealing for 8 months now and I will be the first to admit that I dont know everything...but when asking some of my lovely co workers to help me (the ones that have been dealing for years) they give the remark..."If you dont know that you shouldnt be on the game" So maybe I can get a different response from others What is the easiest ways to figure prop bet payouts? |

The easiest way to pay prop bets is by Memory. ( however, it takes some experience to remember most of them )
besides that, I think doing them the long way is best way to figure and pay prop bets. ( the long way is always right!, and there is no key to remember on the game ) $15 Horn Hi Yo, 3 is the call. $3. bucks are on the 3 x 15 = $45.00 - $12.00 (losing bets) = $33.00 ( i am using the 15 to 1 and still up pay scale. or Downtown odds as you might call them ) or you can remember the Key 2x the bet plus 1/5 = $33.00 or you can remember that every $5 gets the player $11. on the low side... = $33.00 If you are dealing with multiple and multi-way prop action, it's just gonna take practice for you to get better at it. As for the HORN, memorize all the payouts $1 - $10. Then all you have to do is move the decimal. the rest, if you use "strip odds" find out how
much money you have on the winning number THEN subtract ALL the action. If you're not using "strip odds" ... well know your keys.

That's nice of them to help you out like that. I worked with a guy who would cover up the payout so you couldn't see. I don't go that far, but I do
think it's important that you learn that for yourself. I am pretty good in that area so i don't mind helping out when it's a tough one, but you
should really put some time in learning the keys. Like the horn hi's are a little tricky. HH12 bet 12hits: 11x + what's on it or 57 per nickel. 2hits:
5x + what's on it (26 per nickel), 3 or 11: 2x plus whats on it (11per nickel) memorize the multiplier + per nickel for a backup plan. Just try to learn
some every day. I use to use flashcards to memorize the keys, that way when i got in a jam, it wasn't too tough to remember.
Funny side story i had a break in who thought he was awesome, but he always relied on me to figure out his prop payouts, and then try to correct me on a live game. One time i got sick of it, so someone had a $25 high low and 2 hit, I cut out something way over like $642, and he said pay him $642 and the box said "what the hell are you talking about?" And then i put the money away and made him figure it out on his own..lesson-be humble when you are learning! |

I'm a dice dealer that sucks at math (yes, it's true), but I can still handle my props. I agree that memorization is the easiest way to get a number
fast. A $5 world pays $26 on the high side, one nickel gets a green and a white. So 2 nickels get 2 green and 2 white, 3 nickels get 3 green and 3 white,
etc... Dealing by units, like roullette. On the horns, divide the bet by 4 and go from there. Ex. 16/4 is 4, the 12 rolls, $4 gets 1 green and 2 white so
$16 gets 4 green and 8 white.
We have hops where I am, so I found it helpful to know what something gets if it's coming down and subtract the entire bet. Ex. Player has $15 reds hopping and a $15 three way, 6-1 rolls, it gets $80 and down minus $30 action; $50. Hope that helps. Good luck! |

lmb711, I like that way to figure horns, color association. On 3 way bets on the low side, I kinda do a system of bet
association...the bet is the last number of the payoff.
(hop the red, 3-way craps on low side, hop 6/8 low side, any other bets where the bet covers 3 bets and the 15-1 hits) $3 = $13 $6 = $26 $9 = $39 $12 = $52 $15 = $65 $18 = $78 $21 = $91 $24 = $104 |
