Buying the point on the line |
Lead | |
|
Ok, had an argument with an old friend of mine. A guy on a $5 table places the point on the line for $5, a few numbers roll, says he want to buy the point on
the line for $100, so I told him you put a buy button on it, put it in between the two lines. He says you leave it on the line and put the buy button on it.
Who do you think is right?

You set it up like you are placing the point on the line, with the buy button on it. You do not put it in between the lines.....(at least at our place).

At our place you'd set it up to look like they're placing the point on the line.
This reminded me of a slightly similar situation that happened at our place last weekend. Point of 10, player has $162 across including. He puts $10 on the line for the point. Would you pay it $18 (place) or $20 (press on the buy)? |

Would you pay it $18 (place) or $20 (press on the buy)? It depends if you can buy the 10 for $10 at your casino. At my place it has to be a minimum of $20 |

winner do you pay him for $10 place bet and then pay him for his $25 buy or or do you pay him for a $35 buy?

At my joint, it's automatically bought at $20, you put it square on the pass line. If they just randomly chunk $50 on the line after the point is
established, it's bought; button on, on the pass line. Either way, if there's a button on it, it's bought. If I just glance at it and say,
"point is bought on the line," it's bought. If the juice is up front, he pays, you buy. I don't care if he wants to buy $5 and the point is
6, you buy as long as he's willing to pay the juice up front. I don't care if it's hanging off the line or if it's square on the line, if
there's a button on it, true odds; period. "Do you pay it $18 or $20" (that's really $18 or $19 including vig)... is there a button on it?!
Are you high? Again, this is a debate? Where you put it is a moot point. I've dealt to fuckers that want your contact with their money at a minimum,
I'm not gonna move it. Fuck, I gave them their button to put on their bets themselves. Some of them have their own stash of buttons (buy and lay) and
they put them down as they please, booking their own shit accordingly. If you have control of your pass line (and don't), there should be no surprises,
anyway. If they don't know what they're doing, you pay them $295 and call it a day, they'll be happy to get that much. In my experience, after
that, they'll try to buy everything, even while they're shooting. It isn't placed, it's bought. Put it where you want, just make sure to book
it and put a button on it. I don't want to talk to surveillance. I hate talking to surveillance!

??? He has the 10 bought for $25, he paid $1 vig. He only needs $1 vig for a $35 buy. really, the places i play would charge $2 for a $35 buy (round up the $1.75) |

You can place the bet on the pass line, in between the lines with the buy button on top of the bet.
