I need help from Las Vegas Dealers! |
Lead | |
|
I currently live in Washington State and really thinking about moving to Las Vegas to start a career there as a table games dealer. I have been dealing for two years now and I know that if I do get a job I will probably have to work graveyard shifts or even the zombie shifts (2am-10am). I know how to deal: Craps, BJ, Pai gow poker, three-card poker, Let it ride, Spanish 21, and Ultimate Texas Hold'em. I know most places that you do get hired on I will start you part-time or the dreaded on-call. I work at a Indian Casino now and I know how it is that we pool our tips and how that works and also they have smoking in our casino, so that doesn't bother me either. I guess my question is how much do dealers make in Las Vegas and which places pay the best. Also, do most places offer health insurance (once your full-time of coarse), 401k, free meals for dealers, or other benefits? Or any other information would be awesome!

How many days would be good to visit for?

You need to see the weekdays as well as the weekends to judge if the casino in question is right for you... also keep in mind the cost of living in the different parts of town. However all the major resorts are corporate now, so just check out what looks good to you and go on the internet and see what they have to offer.
Good luck |

If the area code of your phone number is not 702 they won't call you.

Sorry about the rude responses | ||
|
The responses you got are typical Las Vegas. The attitude of the people who posted are" I've got mine, to hell with you". Most of the new breed
of dealers have asskissed their ways into their jobs and could care less about anyone else. Most have dealing skills so poor they cannot be called
"professionals".
I would suggest to you to start at some of the mid-level casinos. Try Excalibur or Imperial Palace. They are usually hiring. Even in these places the dealers are making nearly $40,000 a year. These places can be a great foot in the door towards getting a better position. If you are going to make a move, I would advise to do it soon. Some big casinos will be opening in the next couple of years and dealers will be in big demand. That will be your opportunity to move into a good job such as Caesars or Bellagio. Good Luck |

True, but right now this spring anyway, many of the local casinos are on a hiring freeze. Only the big operators on
the strip that cater to the international tourist can handle this recession. Yes, recession. And it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Station casinos | ||
|
Yeah, Stations has made their move to eliminate jobs, which is how they propelled themselves into billionaire status on the list at Forbes. How much money
do these cheap bastards need?
Brothers Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta entered the roster at No. 897, with $1.3 billion each. In addition to Station, the Fertittas own the Ultimate Fighting Championship, a mixed martial arts league. Thomas Barrack, the Colony Capital founder who helped the Fertittas take Station Casinos private in 2007 for $9 billion, is worth $2.3 billion, good enough for No. 524 on the Forbes list. |
