You are doing the right thing! Period! This is the biggest falsehood on a dicegame. It is NOT customer service to hand off come bets. If the person is too short to reach the come easily, then healing them off, and pushing it closer is great. People that make come bets, generally, know how to play. All you are doing is making bad players out of them when you hand them off. Plus you are showing other, new, players the wrong way to play. What if they want to press their flat. Now they have to reach back out and press their flat. Thus you wasted your time and theirs. If you want to service a player, then remind them of their odds or if they forget to make a come bet. That is more than enough, and will be remembered more than if you hand everything off. The field bet hand off is just stupid. You create more work for everyone. This is a last resort move(full game and the field player can't reach it). Always encourage the player to move to a place where they can reach. The field is a self-service bet, just like the come. I see way too much of this kind of behavior from both players and dealers, and it ruins the game. Stick to your guns on this, and try to encourage your crew to do the same. By the way, I've gotten just as many bets by NOT reminding a stiff about his odds, then I have by doing everything for them. You would be amazed how often forgetting about the player causes him/her to remember about you financially. But, when you are already doing everything for them, then it will be your fault when they miss out on a payout. Then you get what you deserve. Make yourself needed or show you can be their life line and the money will come....not just a dollar either. You might get a few disparaging remarks once in a while, about why you didn't remind them, so have a thick skin. But, in the long run it will be worth it.
