Sorry to butt in but as a player this thread seems VERY IMPORTANT to emphasize. I mostly play table games where all tokes are split and it DEFINITELY AFFECTS how George/generous I am. The sour-pussed, heads-down, frumplestiltskin dealers definitely HURT ALL OTHERS in that situation. It is human nature to not be as generous with GOOD DEALERS when you know that just as much of that toke is going to the 2 guys/gals before them in that shift that were dour-faced unfun SLUGS who barely looked up let alone tried to make the experience fun or enjoyable or showed any appreciation for tokes.

As a result, certain casinos get more of my play and the dealers get more generously toked - in general. Frankly, Wynn's casinos were always pretty good at not "discouraging" fun-loving and friendly dealers. That breeds better tokers, IMO. Downtown casinos also are less "restrictive", IMO. Certainly, YMMV, but those places like IP - and many on teh strip - who seem to scold their dealers for fraternizing ( not wanting the hands dealt per hour rate to dip ) are awful!

There is just no doubt that some dealers take tokes out of others pockets by being "just there", at best. I wish all dealers kept their own and then it would be a true tip given for direct service. I know that many hate that idea but I doubt many are the really good dealers who'd clean up if they were on their own.

I understand tho that with poker it is much less about entertainment and fun and more about a clean and straight-up game. For table games though, most players crave entertainment over just card robots, otherwise they'd play slots!
