I work in the Shreveport, Louisiana market. Is this guy still around and does he target specific casinos? IE (casinos with certain table max or max odds)

A guy matching that description was just at our Casino in the midwest out in the middle of nowhere. I'm pretty sure it was him but he did not bet the kind of action that is mentioned here. The shot he took was a $400 place bet on the 4. He threw in hardways for the dealers first and then after the dice were gone he bet the four. He put down an extra $30 for the dealers on the number as well. Our box called me down and told me the situation and the thing that clicked in my head was that...

The guy is a shot taker, he just has a partner. And the box can go to jail for that move in vegas. I've seen it happen. That guy would love me, the second I figured out what he was doing, we'd have the dice in the middle, ask him what he wanted, every roll, if he said no, we'd cut off his action. He sucks when people endanger the whole crew just because someone is tipping.

It's not like he's a shot taker. He has a pretty good scam. He made his rounds in Vegas in 2003 and hit every big joint in town. This guy paid off the box $5000 each at the place I was at. They were all paid in bathroom stalls by his agents.

The dealers did their job, but the box was paid off. During interviews (And before anyone found out they were all paid off) the box all said that they heard the player make the bet. So what can you do?

Also, in 2003 he was arrested downtown...

I don't know if this post will even stand anymore, but I think that everyone needs to be aware. This player was in our casino this week. He had played for two days before someone finally recognized him and escorted him out of the casino. I work in the very southern end of Michigan, right on the Indiana state line. We are a new casino (open less than 6 months) and I know that is why he tried again. He has already been 86'ed from every riverboat in the area, so I guess he would try...

I dealt to this player at Foxwoods casino. He is very good at making late bets. It is a close call. He tips very very well... which is why he gets paid.

Makes a very valid point, I will fire dealers that are not doing there job properly when they are aware of a situation like this, the problem with this whole situation is one or another taking advantage of a situation. The cheat, takes his shot cause they know the floor has just walked away or the dealer isnt paying attention maybe the box is taking a nap, maybe there is a weak link and the player is exploiting it. lotsapride This is how I feel about your post, you did everything right! They put you on that exact base for a reason then they ignored what you told them, they get everything they deserve.
I have been in a Managers position before and when I had an experienced dealer/box or floor tell me that where I had placed them had a cheat or a thief I took it very seriously, I placed people I trusted in very specific situations, when they tell me what is happening I move on that information. I had a similar incident with what sounds alot like this guy most of you are describing. I was dealing at a casino in the south about 5 years ago, it was also a breakin joint. Going in to work one night, I was told we had a big player who had been killing graveyard and dayshift all day, was told make sure you are on his end. I just read the first page of this thread and found myself a little irritated, if any guy is making max bet anywhere on the layout, where the f*ck is the box or the floor? Absolutely you as dealers are responsible for not paying attention to your game but so are the suits for not paying attention to max bets, for not calling it in to the eye in the sky, for not doing these thing and maybe saving a couple of dealers jobs and nailing the cheating bastard.

He almost always put the crew on hardways for 50$ each.

He's a middle aged, polite black male that usually wears a beard and in general... looks like a poker player playing dice. Always wears a hat.

I think we had him here in IA a month or so ago. Chronic late bettor and seemed very opportunistic. Tried to make more than a few claims when he was on my table. He (if it was him) did us a great favor by teaching us the value of the phrase "no bet". We seem to have a quite restrictive late bet policy, compared to other casinos-no bets after the shooter has touched the dice, period.

We recently had a player who was cheating at dice. His cheating revolved around the placing of bets once the dice were in the air. So if you see a player who seems to have an uncanny ability of making late bets that hit be very cautious. This player also tips the dealers very well. The player was a black gentleman probably 30-35 years old, maybe 5 8 and approximately 160lbs.

I would like to go in more detail concerning his play but I do desire to provide an instruction manual on...
