The Dual-Rates were NOT in the bargaining unit with the Caesars Palace dealers and were specifically excluded in the petition for an election. They were not excluded because the dealers did not want them, but because they did not send in a large enough percetage of A-Cards. I wonder how they feel about that decision to "gamble" with their future now? If they had been included with the dealers, chances are they would still have their jobs today because the elimination of a job...

The obvious question is whether or nor the dual-rates were part of the bargaining unit at Caesars. If they are and they were all fired and allowed to only reapply as floor supervisors then I would think the NRLB would see that as an unfair labr practice. Does anyoe here have any info as to whether or not this is being looked into?

Card Mechanic: Do you have any links that say that floor supervisors can organize. I think I would go back to floor if I could be apart of a union. Did any of the Dual-Rates fired get the honor of training in their replacements?

Nothing "surprises me". This circumsatnce is one reason why the dealers at Caesars Palace and The Wynn are now negotiating contracts.

What does liking a job (dealing at CP) have to do with expressing outrage at your employers way of filling vacant non dealer positions?

I guess that in some peoples minds, liking your job is synonymous to losing your objectivity.

To get "back on topic", today there was a NEW Floorperson on Graveyard at CP. I guess instead of allowing the position to go to a soon-to-be former Dual-Rate, they thought it better and kinder to fill the position from the outside. This is who we ALL work for!

Three months ago, the Beau Rivage (MGM Corporate) decided to eliminate the box position.

Our TGM made a decision to keep these employees employed by making them full time dealers or full time floor supervisors.

Of course they wouldn't let them be dealers...that would just add more numbers to your bargaining unit which would add more stength, which would be very bad for the corporate monster.

Some of the BEST "Floor" we have at Caesars Palace has turned out to be the Dual-rates since Harrah's took over. It is terrible that this is happening to them. I think this is just the begining at ALL Harrah's properties.

Duel-rates are gone from Caesars. However they can reapply for fulltime floor. Bullshit!
