maybe its not like that everywhere but at my casino i am 101% sure thats how it works here. thats the whole point of tucking them--you are "playing the
board." Your cards don't even get looked at. You could have the 4th ace in your hand with 3 aces on the board and if you tuck them under the trips
bet you will only get paid on 3 of a kind.

i mean you could tuck them without the board having trips or better i guess, but since youre only playing trips or better you...

That's a new twist. I'll have to ask at work if a hand has to be on the board to tuck the cards and play just the trips. We always check the
player's cards and, to my knowledge, they are allowed to play something not on the board. We don't advertise that move, though, and maybe only once
have I seen a person tuck his card under trips for a hand that wasn't on the board. I believe the board had an open-ended straight flush and he had the
low card for a straight.

Lets say flop comes 567 of spades, turn/river comes 8 of spades and a 2 of hearts. Player 1 has pocket 2s (no spade). Decides he doesn't want to play
against the dealer and he'll just take his small win on the trips bet. Now what happens? He tucks his cards under the trips, but there's no hand on
the board that qualifies for the trips bonus.

The casino where I work has introduced Ultimate Texas hold'em one year ago. If the board shows a hand that qualifies for the trips bet (3-of-a-kind or
better) and the player did not want to make the play bet, he can tuck his cards under the trips bet and the dealer takes the ante and blind bets. It's just
like when he folds, but the trips bet stays. After the showdown his trips bet is paid e.g. if 3-of-a-kind is on the board he gets 3:1. His cards go facedown to
the discard since...
