One man to a hand....

I was dealing 1.00/3.00 no limit the other night, a player bet, next player called and the first player thought it was over and flipped his cards up, well with one player left to act I quickly covered up his cards and said we have one person left to act. Now that player tells me I should move my hand from his cards (face up) because the rule is one man to a hand.

Should I? Should I have covered them up at all?

Also, what do you do about players that take a long time to...

with the economy slumping and hold'em reaching its peak have you guys noticed in your rooms smaller strings, lower down amounts, below "average" toke days, less volume of players in the room? just curious if people across the country are being affected

i dont deal poker but i wanted to share this with all the poker dealers, MIKE THE MOUTH was at our casino and he told all the players to only tip the dealer 1 dollar , and no more than a dollar, cheap son of a you know what, so just dont expect a tip from him

playing 2-5 NL i bet $65 on the flop and the player behind me bring out a stack, cuts out $60 in checks, stalls for about a second and then says raise and cuts out the remaining chips in his hand which are a chip or two short of a min raise. before i can call string bet the dealer has called the floor over and his ruling is that it IS a legal raise and the player is bound to the minimum raise.

WSOP Dealers be aware

Well its official they are going to halt the WSOP when they get to the final table and wait until November so they can broadcast the event close to live.

Well dealers how do you figure your getting paid now? Are they going to hold the tokes until the end of the event? You go with out pay for months . . . (are they giving you the interest on this money?) Or are they going to pay before the event ends? If so are they holding back any money for the dealers at the final...

Losing Jobs in Vegas

Recently TI cut out its graveyard shift. I understand some dealers were laid off buT i don't know how many,

Now the Poker room at Paris is moving to a single shift. I have heard that different numbers about jobs lost. I heard 8 dealesr lost their jobs then I heard that 15 dealers between Ballys and Paris lost their jobs and that fulltime dealers have been knocked down to extra-board.

I think its only going to get worse.

I am a new poker dealer out of school only 3 months. I had a situation at a table where I was missing calling the live stradle because I was busy trying to keep a drunk player in line. Another player was upset with me for not calling the stradle 3 or 4 times and I do understand it is my responsibility to do this. I havent heard much on the subject of working in a card room.Id like an opinion or 2 if you would.I work in the northwest in the biggest casino on our side if the state (indian).We pool and its dismal ,$8.00 hr.On the other side of town is a hooters with a card room and from all Ive heard ,often first hand they can routinely bring in $200 plus a night.Its tft but still deal to regulars. STRING BET OR NOT?

Many of our players in our N-L limit games do this when they bet. Also, we do not use the yellow line rule in our room. They come over the line with a handful of chips and cut out the amount of chips they wish to bet-no verbal is given. Most palyers are o.k. with this, but wev'e had many that argue that this is a string bet. Help!

As I am looking to be poker dealer in Vegas I wanted to gather some people's insight as to the better places and games to deal in terms of tipping. Is it better to deal at a grind joint like the Tropicana, a touristy room like the MGM, or one of the top rooms like the Veneitan or Bellagio? I am planning on moving to Vegas within in the next 6 months I had some questions if anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated:
Where is a safe and very affordable area to live in?
I heard the UNLV are is affordable, is it safe and conveniently located to the strip?
What are the best casinos to work for in terms of how they treat their dealers, and whether or not they don't split tips?
Are there any NL or Omaha hi-low limit games for dealers to play in off...

Heads up play live poker or tournament- the small blind is on the button. Who is dealt the first card? The small blind(button) or big blind(non button)? Who acts first? Small blind or Big? I've read conflicting articles on this subject. Once and for all which way is it?

you know how every tournment you always have that one player at the table that never remembers to ante. you can say directly to him sir plese ante multiple times but he still doesn't. I like to get the pot straight before i cut and pitch but collecting antes can be really annoying sometimes. Would you guys ever just grab his ante off his stack?

1-2 NL game. Betting is on the river card. Heads Up. Player A bets $50. Player B goes all-in (additional $100). Not sure if all-in was announced or not.
