I hope our union representitves are present at the meeting of the people who are suspended at the Wynn. Hopefully everything will work out ok. Are our shop stewards present at all of the write ups and suspensions that have been occuring this week? I'd like to think we are getting something for all the hooplah we've gone through.

anyone else get real irked by fellow dealers/cocktail servers who don't say "thank you" for a tip???

I had a situation like that today, where I watched a newer cocktail server, expressionless, and her lips never moved., while she served about half the table.

I could'nt help blurting out "you're supposed to say thank you when you get a tip".

I'm continually grateful of every dollar I make.

After 40 years of not being allowed tips by law, on June the 2nd we will be taking tips across our whole Casino estate here in England.
The new law has perscribed that we use the Tronc system for accounting and sharing the tips out.

Having worked in England my whole life, i have no knowledge of this system or what to expect from the tipping enviroment.

Fox news reported this morning that American Airlines has banned all tipping of skycaps at Logan Airport in Boston. Apparently, this is in response to a lawsuit the skycaps have against the airline concerning tipping. If American gets away with this, it could be only the beginning of a huge war between tip-earners and employers. They start banning tipping and watch the quality of service go way down. I had a relative just come back from Australia, and she said the service was horrendous...

I need a job in Southern California. I got a job at the Hardrock in Florida but I'm not sure if I should give up on sunny San Diego. I don't know if it would be worth it. Well readers I'm a bit of an amateur armchair economist and I think we are in for some tough times. I know you think things are tough now but six months down the road may be a lot worse. Our economy is slowing yet we have rising gas prices and food prices....................oh yeah that's cause China and India started eating three squares a day.......it isn't that the dollar has lost value against other currencies...gold...oil...wheat...etc.....................NO!!.

I am relocating to the Chicago area due to some family issues and have an interview at the Horseshoe in Hammond Indiana. Any opinion on the place? I hear that their toke rate is ok for the area but due to their giant upcoming expansion I am not sure how the tip rate will hold up.

I have worked at a few places but none that have gone through huge renovations. Anyone have any opinions on this place? Should I look elsewhere?...

I heard that there was a gang fight at the Flamingo the other night. I was told that dealers were ducking under the tables for protection. I wonder how many of those dealers that ducked for cover were brought into the office and told that they were being written up for not protecting company assets properly. Would not surprise me one bit...F-ING Harrahs!!
