The futures market

Can anyone explain the futures market to me? Everytime I read an explanation I think it would make so much more sense if someone could explain it like a craps game. Is a put bet in craps like a put in the futures maket? If so, does that make a call like playing a don't?

I don't want to bet in the futures market, I just want to understand how ir affects gas and food prices.

I was dealing 1.00/3.00 no limit the other night, a player bet, next player called and the first player thought it was over and flipped his cards up, well with one player left to act I quickly covered up his cards and said we have one person left to act. Now that player tells me I should move my hand from his cards (face up) because the rule is one man to a hand.

Should I? Should I have covered them up at all?

Also, what do you do about players that take a long time to...

I hope our union representitves are present at the meeting of the people who are suspended at the Wynn. Hopefully everything will work out ok. Are our shop stewards present at all of the write ups and suspensions that have been occuring this week? I'd like to think we are getting something for all the hooplah we've gone through.

anyone else get real irked by fellow dealers/cocktail servers who don't say "thank you" for a tip???

I had a situation like that today, where I watched a newer cocktail server, expressionless, and her lips never moved., while she served about half the table.

I could'nt help blurting out "you're supposed to say thank you when you get a tip".

I'm continually grateful of every dollar I make.

Do you offer the opportunity to bank to the players before or after you close the betting. Where I work we offer the bank after the bets are closed. This prevents the other players from removing their bets if a player is banking.

Paula-Gate happened last week... but I think this week, the final nail was hammered home into the coffin of Jason Castro.

(Paula had been given notes by producers of the show BEFORE Jason Castro had performed his SECOND song last week. She commented on BOTH songs BEFORE he had even sang them. I guess she was too intoxicated to have noticed. Simon and Randy tried to save her on the spot and the next night Seacrest also tried to minimize the damage of the shows obvious gaff. But...

with the economy slumping and hold'em reaching its peak have you guys noticed in your rooms smaller strings, lower down amounts, below "average" toke days, less volume of players in the room? just curious if people across the country are being affected

The first warm weather in the mid-west hits, people get spring fever... And everyone starts playing golf.

it would be just fine if it stopped there, but NO!

after a day of drinking and smoking cheap smelly cigars, one member of the golf group will always suggest "lets go to the casino"

next thing you know, I've got 3-6 Douche-Bags from the chicago area...

After 40 years of not being allowed tips by law, on June the 2nd we will be taking tips across our whole Casino estate here in England.
The new law has perscribed that we use the Tronc system for accounting and sharing the tips out.

Having worked in England my whole life, i have no knowledge of this system or what to expect from the tipping enviroment.

i dont deal poker but i wanted to share this with all the poker dealers, MIKE THE MOUTH was at our casino and he told all the players to only tip the dealer 1 dollar , and no more than a dollar, cheap son of a you know what, so just dont expect a tip from him
